School holiday is over. Last week, we went back to school, relaxed social distancing measures and carried on with home-schooling for many!

As a family, we have decided to carry on with home-schooling. Both my husband and I think that it is safer this way.

Whether the country (or this government) has made the right decision to ease the lockdown and allow the certain grades to go back to schools is questionable, and we’ll only know in about a week’s time and that is if and how the news get reported. Some countries, with relaxed measures, see the number of cases rising so we’ll see what happens in the UK. We all have the responsibility though to look after ourselves and look after the people that are most vulnerable.

The beauty of homeschooling is that we spend more time together. This lockdown is like meditation. There are bad parts – getting used to it, not being able to focus and give in, fear of unknown, not comfortable, can’t sit here any longer, my mind is all over the place … But there are also many good parts. We are completely present and still. Our senses have heightened. We taste, we feel, we notice, we see more. We see everything in a different light.

We feel the earth and are much closer to the nature.

The homeschooling has opened many other avenues and we can count and do the maths on the nature, (in our house some multiply the pegs whilst doing the washing!) We see many insects and have fun watching them breath and making up stories about them. Or learning new habitats.

The beauty of Earth isn’t just beaches and travel, the beauty of Earth is in our gardens and park.

Meditation isn’t just in the studio it’s anywhere.

Happiness isn’t just achievements, happiness is at home. Happiness is in you – just like meditation skills- you just need to discover it!

Weather you decide to follow the government advice and send your children back to school or not, the decision is yours alone and You will do what’s best for you. Still, please be careful! Stay at home whenever you can, and stay safe!

Namaste!
