This drink is based on Ayurvedic principles and cooking. You can adjust the volume or water to get the best consistency but you can also add figs, apricots (organic better) and substitute spices like cardamom pods for ground spices.
This drink is highly nutritious, high in potassium (which we need to absorb calcium), protein, and B-group vitamins. It helps digestion and gives strength. Can be used to aid detox or just aid your way through the day!
4 dates or 1 fresh Medjool date
6 almonds
3 cardamom pods
½ tsp of fennel seeds
Goji berries (appx. 1 table spoon)
Sunflower seeds 1 tbsp (optional)
Pumpkin seeds 1 tbsp (optional)
Soak the ingredients over night or for at least 1 hour – the longer you soak it the better. Blend it all before drinking or eating (depending on consistency).
Enjoy as part of the cleansing detox or thicker as a nutritious breakfast.
